Soap Creek Saloon was the soul of Austin's music community in the early 70s. The venue was a mere shack on what was then a lonely stretch of Bee Caves Road, and Soap Creek was great for dancing. Couples dancing or the two-step, it kept slow dancing alive in Austin when disco ruled elsewhere.
The venue moved to the old Skyline Club (see our tee) on North Lamar, where parts of Honeysuckle Rose were filmed. Punk and New Wave were integrated, but soon it was time to move again, in 1980, to South Congress.
It succeeded there, rivaling the Continental Club and the Austex Lounge, before closing forever in 1985.
Get the classic unisex jersey short sleeve tee that brings it all back again. Ribbed knit collars bolster shaping, shoulders have taping for better fit and dual side seams hold the garment's shape longer.
