An Austin Institution, Threadgill's was home to southern style food and live Music. On New Year’s Eve 1981, Threadgill’s opened as a restaurant. It was an instant success where you would find longhairs, rednecks, suits and students enjoying music, food and each other. Thanks to Kenneth Threadgill, Janis Joplin developed her brassy style and a career as the first female rock and roll superstar.

Enjoy this interpretation of the renown and loved meeting place. Threadgill's is no longer with us. But the memories (and this image) still are.
